A letter to the fans: 01/29/2012

I’m writing this letter as a thank you to the fans of the Casey Donahew Band. You see, I understand a fan to be, a supporter or a person with a liking and enthusiasm for something. Me and my wife have built our business over the last 9 years from the ground up solely on the idea of taking care of our fans! I myself am a fan of music, which lead me down this path. I never set out to change the world, never considered myself a great singer or songwriter. I just found something I was passionate about and worked as hard as I could to be successful at it. I’ve been lucky enough to see this band grow from tailgates and pastures for dozens of people to playing for thousands. I have always made an effort to make myself available to the people that have supported our music with meet and greets, autographs, and pictures. I make music as entertainment for my fans, it’s a pretty simple concept. I understand that not everyone is going to enjoy what you do. Everybody is not going to be a fan, and I am ok with that. I have accepted that, and I am secure enough with myself and with what I do to take criticism about my music, the way I dress, talk, or comb my hair. Some of it makes me laugh. It’s a world of different taste and to each their own.

However, I am a husband, father and, a man and it is saddening to me that some people can’t just enjoy music for what it is. Some people in this world have not learned a basic truth. “Your opinion is not any more valid than anyone else’s.” Some critics stoop to malicious lies, rumors and gossip, because it draws THEM attention. It’s upsetting that a person can take inaccurate information and spin it until they are a victim to get sympathy and attention for themselves. Me and my family have been attacked on a personal level many times and it’s NOT ok. These people don’t know me or my family. It’s a crazy obsession that leads a person to form an opinion of you because they don’t like a song. Garth Brooks said it best when he said “Listen not to the critics who put their own dreams on a shelf.” Let me be clear, this world is full of choices. I have chosen NOT to do business with these people. They will NOT be allowed to do business with me. They will NOT be allowed access to me or this band. I will NOT in any way condone, respond or acknowledge any of the bottom feeding outlets that hope to make their name by trying to ruin mine or anybody else’s. Me and my wife have sacrificed and worked very hard for what we have accomplished and we know who we owe thanks to, our FANS! They are the ones in charge of who does or does not succeed in the music business. People have been telling us for 9 years what we can’t do and we keep proving them wrong!

I am writing to assure our fans that the CDB will continue to do what is has always done. Make music for the people that love it, get on stage for 90 minutes at a time and give you everything we have! And I will continue to stand up for myself, my family, and the things I believe in.Thanks for your loyal support and I’ll make you this simple deal, “ keep rocking it, keep spreading it and we will keep doing it”

4th Annual Adopt a Family For Christmas 11/26/2011

This year will be the Casey Donahew Band's 4th year to adopt families for Christmas. This year we will be concentrating on families only in our area that are in need. CASEY DONAHEW DRAWS 6,000 TO STOCKYARDS

FOR SOLD-OUT BILLY BOB’S SHOW

Nashville, TN (August. 1, 2011)--When you’re hot, you’re hot, and the Stockyards were sizzling last Saturday night (and not just from the stifling 100 degree temps) when hometown boy/local music hero Casey Donahew took the stage at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth and promptly packed out the place. From the moment he launched into his first scorching note around 10:30 p.m., the crowd was already amped and ready, and the Burleson native turned the dial all the way up from go and quickly whipped the crowd of 6,000 into a whirling frenzy with his collection of old favorites and some brand new tunes as well.

Stepping on top of the speakers to survey the vast landmass of beer drinking, shoulder-swaying flesh, Casey gave a shout-out to the crowd and launched into a bevy of rollicking tunes like “Nowhere Fast,” “Next Time,” “Twelve Gauge,” and the aptly-titled hometown theme song, “Stockyards.” Visibly moved that so many friends and fans would show up to celebrate one of his homecoming shows with him, he rounded out the night with a stirring, understated encore performance of one of his all-time favorite songs, Matchbox 20’s “3 a.m.”

The concert marks the second time the Casey Donahew Band has sold out the legendary venue, and the group continues to burn up the road on tour this summer as they prepare to release their fourth CD. Casey will be in the studio putting the finishing touches on the new project, which is due out October 25^th.

One of the bands that I’ve loved from the minute I first heard them and have always had the utmost respect for is the Casey Donahew Band.

This Burleson,Texas native has been hitting the Texas Red Dirt Roads for several years now and for years built their fan base by word of mouth.

You can now hear them on the radio, as proof by the crowds they draw at all their shows and their great music, including their current single “Let Me Love You” which makes three number 1 songs for the group.

Recently, Casey sat down with me and answered a few questions for the fans to get a look inside the life of the Casey Donahew Band.

Casey Donahew signs with William Morris Endeavor Entertainment

After two successful years with the Hoyt Agency, Fort Worth-based singer/songwriter Casey Donahew will be booked by the prestigious William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME) in Nashville, TN.

“Matthew Hoyt has done amazing things for the band,” says Donahew, whose latest CD Moving On spawned the hits “Ramblin’ Kind” and “Nowhere Fast.”

“We’re grateful for the opportunity and his hard work over the past two and a half years – the band would not be as far down the road as we are without his help,” says Donahew.” We’re also grateful to be growing to the point where we need some national representation. WME fits us well.”

WME books top Texas music artists Randy Rogers, Lee Ann Womack, Pat Green, and Robert Earl Keen, as well as national acts like Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson, and Brad Paisley.

The Casey Donahew Band just finished editing the video for “Nowhere Fast,” which was shot at Hill’s Café in Austin and The Mesquite Rodeo in Mesquite, Texas earlier this spring. The band spent time this summer travelling through the Midwest, as well as making new fans along the southeastern seaboard. The band will wrap up the summer headlining the Central Texas State Fair in Belton September 5.
